The Nikon D40 Digital Camera has been designed as a point to shoot SLR camera. It is a new compacted model with a low price. It has many characteristics reasonably dissimilar to D50 series which it follows. Many people have the curiosity to find out if Nikon has compromised with the features of its predecessor D50 series. Whatever you may shoot with Nikon D40, there is an automatic digital program configured in it to achieve the fantastic results.
Salient Features of Nikon D40: Here we view the important characteristics of Nikon D40. This series composes an exceptionally small and latest view finder which is an improvement over D50, and a shutter with short time lag from 30 to 1/4000 s. The technology used is an alternative to the old techniques of working on mega pixel controls.
These important features of Nikon D40 make it more attractive. However, there is a major considerable variation in this model. It is not feasible to change the steps involved in exposure while you try taking a picture. The camera is provided with an ISO auto focus choice similar to the features in Nikon D80.
Auto Focus Feature: Nikon D40 camera is provided with an ISO auto focus choice similar to the features in Nikon D80.
The auto focus feature is designed only for AF-AF-S lens or I. The camera has a largest flaw in its design. It does not have any internal powered focusing mechanism or a mechanical device for the purpose. A few people have the opinion that camera's central processor contact only permits the auto focus with the AF-AF-S lens and I. These lenses are with in built focus drives. Nikon D40 has different standard lenses as in comparison to D80.
Other main characteristics of Nikon D40 include a 6.1 mega pixels DX Format CCD sensor. The Nikon D40 Digital Camera has a digital image processing algorithms, which produce almost natural images. It is provided with a novel multi cam 530 advanced 3-area AF system sensor. The range of auto focus ISO is 200 to 1600 with additional HI 1, which can be set manually also. Its customized auto ISO has choice of the lowest shutter speed and the highest ISO. The camera is equipped with a bright LCD monitor 2.5-inch in size. Nikon D40 has a very large view finder. The camera had also many touch up options.
Comparison between D40 and D50 camera:On comparing the D40 and D50, it is a feeling that certain functions have been reduced in model D40- a sort of compromise. The novel sensor provided in D40 camera is fast, but it has only limited flexibility. The probable reason for this is that it is impossible to change average CW area. There is no bracket provided in the new model. If LCD monitor is not provided in the camera that could save the cost. Nikon advocates that they made the smaller camera, but many people don't agree to it.
Nikon D40 is suggested as a user friendly camera. You have to only focus on the object or scene you like to shoot and Nikon D40 camera's technologies will do the remaining things for you.

My new Gear: Source Tell me if you like them - i love to discuss the photos with you!
At $350, the Canon Powershot SX200 IS provides you with a great photography experience. The most admirable feature of this camera is the 12X, 28-336mm optical zoom lens. This alone could get customers to buy the Canon Powershot SX200 IS, and when you add its fun features and image quality, this definitely sounds like one product you need to get your hands on soon.
The Canon PowerShot SX200 IS is larger than other point-and-shoot cameras. It has the size of three ultra slim model cameras. It can even fit in an LCD screen of three inches at the rear. In sunlight, the display is bright enough to compose shots. On-screen colors, though, were difficult to distinguish in direct sunlight.
The Canon Powershot SX200 IS looks funny when the 12X optical zoom lens is zoomed to the maximum. The lens has a length of 1.5 inches at the maximum zoom and this is twice the camera's depth.
So what why does SX200 have an “IS” at the end? This is an abbreviation for the term Image Stabilization. This is feature that all cameras, with zooming as the main skill have. While zooming in, the camera jitter happens to shake just a tad and this can create a blurred image. Canon's point-and shoot-models have exceptional optical image stabilization. This model also follows the same convention. It kept shots free of image blur most of the time. But when I shook the camera vigorously, while zooming to the maximum, it was difficult to get a steady shot. The Canon Powershot SX200 IS has corrected jitter, created by shaky hands under normal circumstances, to a great extent. Even when zoom was at maximum, the shots were sharp and clear.
While evaluating image quality, the Canon Powershot SX200 IS's pop-up flash feature helped the camera expose images somewhat OK. Even though the flash worked well and looked similar to the models from the past, there were two things that I didn't like. First, the index finger on the left hand can obstruct the flash popping up when the camera is turned on. Second, the flash operation is fully automated. You cannot close the flash manually.
The Canon Powershot SX200 IS scored very well for the quality of exposure, for the accuracy in color and for the absence of distortion. The camera scored well in the quality of flash exposure also. On the whole, the Canon Powershot SX200 IS earned a very good imaging score.
The rating for battery life is very good. The Canon Powershot SX200 IS was able to take 324 shots with its lithium ion battery (rechargeable) being charged just once. It would have been great if AA batteries also could have been used.
When I tried my hand on the Canon Powershot SX200 IS, I soon became obsessed with two fun features that the camera has - Color Swap mode and Color Accent mode. With the Color Accent mode on the Canon Powershot SX200 IS, a specific color in a scene can be designated as the single color to be shown in original, while retaining the rest of the photo in black and white. Similarly in the Color Swap mode, every instance of a specific color in a scene can be replaced by another color.
And it gets even better. HD video can be shot in both modes, making for some artistic films without any editing. The Canon Powershot SX200 IS allows you to shoot 1280 X 720 high definition video at a frame rate of 30 frames a second. It allows you to shoot 320 X 240 and 640 X 480 standard definition videos at the same frame rate. To add to the fun you can connect the Canon Powershot SX200 IS to an HDTV via the HDMI-out port and let people see your video clips. Unfortunately, zooming can't be done while shooting video.
The old standby modes like snow, fireworks, foliage, aquarium, beach, night-scene and sunset are also available on the Canon Powershot SX200 IS. Another useful feature in the Canon Powershot SX200 IS is a mode called the Stitch- Assist mode. Using this mode you take a picture and the photo's right half can be used to overlap your next photo. The images can then be downloaded to a computer. The PhotoStitch software, which is included with the Canon Powershot SX200 IS and compatible on both Windows and Mac platforms, takes care of the rest.
The Canon Powershot SX200 IS also comes with a scene mode called ISO 3200 for the no flash, low light shots. But there was noise when low light shots were taken in that mode. Manual ISO controls in the range of 80-1600 are available in which results seem to be better. A small amount of noise has sneaked into shots at two instances, ISO 800 and ISO 1600. But the images taken in low light were of amazing sharpness.
There is a helpful addition to the design of the Canon Powershot SX200 IS. Nearly all of the Canon Powershot SX200 IS's features can be accessed by a dial. This dial, which is on camera's top, can be used to select a particular mode. To access contextual settings for a mode, you might have to do some on-screen navigation. But accessing the various modes, like auto mode, manual mode, easy mode, shutter priority mode and aperture priority mode, by turning a dial helps you save a lot of time.
Scenes modes like landscape, portrait, night-portrait, pet and party modes which are frequently used can also be accessed via the mode dial. Other modes can be accessed by selecting SCN on the dial, after which the menu on the screen can be used to pick them.
The arrangement of the controls on the Canon Powershot SX200 IS has a familiar look to it and it does not require an Einstein to master it. The mode dial, zoom ring/shutter button and the power button are on the camera's top. At the rear end of the Canon Powershot SX200 IS, there are four buttons, which surround the navigation button and the scroll wheel. The four buttons are - the print button for printers that are Pictbridge-compliant, a button for playback, a display button to show different settings (and hide) on-screen, and a button for the menu. Depending on the situation, you can spin or press the scroll wheel for navigation to choose items from the menu. The scroll wheels also act as access buttons for the flash, exposure compensation, self timer and macro mode.
The A/V and HDMI ports on the camera's side are enclosed by a shiny, chromed-out door, which also looks fancy. The door, though, feels slightly fragile when opened and its long-term durability could be a cause of concern.
There's not much to dislike in Canon Powershot SX200 IS. Not many point-and-shoots are as versatile and easy to handle as the Canon Powershot SX200 IS. With intuitive controls, big zoom lens, addictive built-in features and spectacular image quality, the Canon Powershot SX200 IS certainly looks a great buy at $350, if you can forgive the bulky nature of this camera.

mom!
“Give mom a garden of memories.”
This Mother's Day, give mom a garden of memories adorned with stylish wire
photo-clips wand pictures of cherished loved ones.
Hands-on time: Approximately one hour to make 6 wire photo-clips.
Total time: add drying time if you choose to paint wires in assorted colors.
Skill: Easy and tween and teen friendly.
Materials & tools:
Craft wires, 22 to 24 gauge in assorted colors
Wire cutters, round or needle-nose pliers
Assorted beads in assorted colors,
sizes and shapes
(available at craft stores, dollar stores and
specialty stores)
Screws or nails in assorted sizes
(to make curls and corkscrew shapes for the
dragonfly tail)
Assorted family photographs
Craft scissors with fancy edges like zigzag,
scalloped, wave or pinking pattern
Planter or flower presentation of your choice.
This Mother's Day, give mom a garden of memories adorned with stylish wire
photo-clips with pictures of cherished loved ones.
These glittering wire photo-clips are easy to make in no time at all. They can
range from simple flat spirals shapes to elaborate flowers or dragonflies which
can be beautifully enhanced with beads. This is a simple project to try if you'
ve never worked with wire or beads, even tweens and teens can create
something special for their moms.
Select colored wires and beads to coordinate with your planter presentation.
Spiral photo-clips;cut a wire piece of about 50 cm long with wire cutters and
make a small hook shape at one end with pliers. Make four to five spirals by
working around the loop, wrapping the wire around it several times, growing
ever-larger using pliers or your fingers. You can thread assorted beads at
different intervals along the stem or onto the tip of the spiral. To make a leaf
shape, cut a wire piece 15 cm long in a green color, make a curved loop
shape, twist the wire ends together and then twist it around the stem to secure
in place. The spirals can be shaped to form square, star or triangular spirals.
Flower shaped Photo-clips; with a wire length of 1 meter, at one end make
a shape spiral of four turns slightly overlapping, creating the clip part to hold
the picture. To make the petals make five loop shapes with your fingers
bending the wire back and forth around the spiral center. After creating the
last loop, the wire continues as the stem part. To embellish the flower, wrap
silver wire around the petals and stem. Use wire to attach small beads and
leaves to the flower by twisting the wire around the flower.
Dragonfly photo-clips; at the end of a 1 meter wire length, make a small
spiral of four turns to make the center clip. Continue to make the wings with
two loops shaped with your fingers then tuck the long wire through the spiral
to make the stem. Open the spiral to create a balloon shape and insert a
glass marble or bead inside, then close the spiral to secure the marble inside.
For the antennas cut a 10 cm piece of wire in a contrasting color, make a
small eye loop at each end semi spiral, bend the wire in half and twist onto the
wings to attach them into place. To make a corkscrew of tail wrap a 10 cm
piece of wire around a screw, and twist off to release. Attach the corkscrew
tail, to the spiral part just under the marble by twisting it to the wire. Adorn the
stem with contrasting wire colors and leaf loops.
For each photo-clip,make a V, U or triangle shape at the end of each stem
and bend the wire to make a foot like shape, to use as an anchor base to
insert the wire-clips into the planters. Simple add favorite pictures.
Let your imagination soar to create several types of free-form photo-clip
shapes, by making a variety of spiral shapes and by adding combinations of
corkscrews and assorted beads. To put a twist on things make each stem
different with assorted curves and zigzag bends to spring shapes, the
variations are truly endless.
Tips:Grass takes a week to grow from seeds, this give you just enough time
to grow it to make a unique presentation for Mother's Day. Try growing grass
in a rectangular bread pan or in a muffin tray which has been painted in fresh
spring pastels or silver. Enhance your planter presentation with a little Zen
appeal simply by adding colored pieces of tumble glass, glass bead nuggets
or assorted rocks. Instead of buying wire in several colors you can paint wire
with glass, acrylic or spray paints.
Variations: Individual wire photo-clips can be added as an accent to decorate
a gift or added to a bouquet. You can make a spiral shape base for each
photo-clip or make stands with self-drying clay in assorted shapes from
squares to triangles.

My new Gear: Nintendo Wii Spiele kaufen Tell me if you like them - i love to discuss the photos with you!
Sony unveiled a new “feature” on Wednesday, exclusive to PlayStation 3 owners, called simply “Home.” At a press conference at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, Phil Harrison of Sony showed off “Home,” which hopes to compete with other virtual online worlds like There.com and Second Life.
Sony hopes this new service, a 3D social environment, will help boost sales numbers for the PS3. In January, the new Playstation console lagged in fourth place, behind Nintendo's Wii, the Playstation 2, and Microsoft's Xbox 360.
Each and every PS3 user will be given an avatar (a graphic representation so other users will recognize them), and an “apartment,” which are linked to the virtual “Home” world.
According to Harrison, the virtual apartment will have customizable, either with free furniture or furniture available to be “purchased” at a virtual online store. Every part of “Home” is designed realistically, with accurate physics, so if a chair falls, it will bounce. The virtual apartment may also be further customized by the user's photo, video and music libraries, so your virtual self can sit inside the virtual apartment and watch videos being streamed onto the apartment's television set.
Once you enter “Home,” there are many things to do. The first glimpse of the world looks like a hotel or resort lobby, with other “Home” users milling around. There are simple games, like pool, bowling and arcade games, and movie theaters are also visible.
Harrison said there will be large screens in public spaces showing trailers for other PS3 games, and the movie theater will be showing movie trailers programmed by studios. It's possible that some theaters may show user videos from Grouper.com (a Sony partner), but that aspect of the virtual environment is not yet finalized.
It was unclear as to the limits of the system, as far as any set number of “Home” users able to access the system, or any public or private space, at a single time. It was also not clear from the demonstration whether or not users will be able to generate their own content, and if so, to what extent.
Harrison said that while people will be able to tweak their personal spaces all they want, anything designated for a public space will be screened. This, according to Harrison, will help keep “Home” a family-friendly space. Second Life has recently been hit with a string of virtual property damage and graffiti, one prominent instance being Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards' Second Life headquarters, which was recently vandalized.
Sony has seen the PS3, its newest gaming offering, lag behind competitors, some say because of cost - the top-of-the-line model costs nearly 600 dollars - while others felt the initial game offering was less than stellar.

Introduction of the Fuji-film Fine-Pix S9000 Digital Camera
The Fuji Fine-Pix S9000 digital camera has become one of the leading products in the Fuji-film product. The Super CCD HR with Real Photo Technology is only the real thing about this camera, but possesses a large optical zoom range running from 28-300mm and a resolution of 9 mega-pixels.
Resolution of the Fuji-film Fine-Pix S9000 Digital Camera
In addition to the new modus operandi the camera also stands out for its sky-scraping resolution. The total of 9 million efficient pixels makes the camera the top digital camera in its category. A little difficulty surfaces with this many pixels on a miniature surface, like a lofty din rate and a restricted vibrant range. The Super CCD HR is well-known for its superior vibrant range that is the reason the HR is added to the forename. Exclusively the Fuji-film Fine-Pix S3 Pro feeler as reached an extraordinary vibrant range.
Lens of the Fuji-film Fine-Pix S9000 Digital Camera
The lens on the S9000 dominates the front of the camera. It's operational with a typical zoom ring, which is a lot simpler to work with than a zoom switch on the rear of the Fuji-film Fine-Pix S9000 Digital Camera. The lens carries a ring that permits a user to manually regulate the focus. This ensures operating the cameras if it were an ordinary D-SLR camera. The Fuji-film Company standard features a lens lid with the Fine-pix S9000 and that is not just a deluxe item. A lens lid always comes in handy because it avoids internal reflections and this occurrence not only surfaces in sunlit weather. To stop the lid from sagging down and disturbing you as a procurer, a holder is accessible on the fastening. There is a correlation for a studio flash unit on the left below the lens on the front. Additionally also on the front side of the S9000 there is an external auto focus feeler with next to it the support lamp for the auto focus that also dole-out as pointer for the self-timer.
Focus Control of the Fuji-film Fine-Pix S9000 Digital Camera
The control of the focus is situated on the right side buttons of the camera. Unusually enough also the instruction switch is located here, which most photographers worldwide would expect to be on the rear side of the S9000. A button on the S9000 permits a user to select single, continuous or manual focus. In the hub of this control a button is positioned that ensures a user using the auto focus once at manual focus. Underneath the control a button for macro shooting is situated. The Super macro permits a user to focus as close as 1 cm in extensive angle. At the rear a rubber cover some external connections are notice. On top of it there is a loud speaker of an exceptional output.
Handgrip of the Fuji-film Fine-Pix S9000 Digital Camera
The handgrip is flawlessly planned. It ensures a user have a firm grip on the Fine-Pix S9000 digital camera. The door to the two memory cards is found on the handgrip. The wrap covers the compartment tidily. On the bottom of the handgrip the batteries have to be slot in. Accurately at the right spot a tripod connection is also accessibly sited. There is one benefit I spotted in this camera, is that when the S9000 is place on a tripod connections a user is still permitted to change the batteries or the memory card.
Viewfinder of the Fuji-film Fine-Pix S9000 Digital Camera
The rear of the camera come into view busier than it actually is. The electronic viewfinder delivers a dioptre setting that is of high and efficient quality. Though the screen inside the viewfinder cannot be equated to the LCD monitor on the rear of the
Fine-Pix S9000, it is still adequately efficient. The LCD screen can be folded out, but only upward and downward. This should do the ploy though because a screen like this is normally used to capture a portrait from the top or the bottom. The selector for light metering is located on the right, with inside it the exposure bar, as it is common with the Fuji-Film Company. Underneath there is a button between the electronic viewfinder and the typical screen. A smart switch on the Fine-Pix S9000 is the focus control switch. It enlarges the image on the screen so aforementioned to taking the portrait a potential can control its sharpness.
Battery of the Fuji-film Fine-Pix S9000 Digital Camera
The handgrip of the camera is capable to grip the 4 AA batteries. The most important benefit is that they are broadly obtainable. It is sensible and advisable for a user to use the NiMH batteries. It is not only noted for their live span when compare to the less competitive normal alkaline batteries, they also have good user-interface. The Fuji-film Company features typical four average alkaline batteries. That is pleasant to make the opening few shoots, except that after some shots the batteries are no way to continue.
Give the Fuji-film Fine-Pix S9000 a try by purchasing the efficient and user-friendliness digital camera, which is of great benefit to both the neophyte and experienced photographers globally. Check your local shop for adequate pricing.
